Overview
Blannicombe offers consistent and rewarding pheasant and partridge shooting, with birds presented naturally over the contours of the land. Steep-sided valleys, woodland edges, open ground and carefully managed cover crops combine to create drives with genuine height, pace and variation. The emphasis is firmly on quality rather than volume, with well-presented birds providing challenging but enjoyable sport for experienced guns while remaining accessible to those developing their shooting. The shoot is professionally managed, with conservation forming an important part of the wider estate management. Woodland management, hedgerow restoration, cover crops, supplementary feeding, predator control, bird boxes and conservation margins all contribute to a productive and biodiverse landscape. The result is a well-rounded shooting experience that combines sporting quality with responsible land management.
A Day In The Field
A day at Blannicombe is built around more than simply the shooting. Gareth and Sam, who run the family business, take great pride in providing a welcoming and carefully managed experience from the moment guests arrive. Gareth brings 18 years of experience in the sporting trade and as a full-time keeper, ensuring the day runs smoothly while maintaining a relaxed and approachable atmosphere. Hospitality is a particular feature of the day, with all food prepared in-house using high-quality local produce wherever possible. A strong field-to-fork philosophy sees seasonal ingredients and game incorporated into generous, well-executed meals, providing an important part of the overall experience. From morning refreshments through to lunch and the final drive, the emphasis is on good sport, good food and a genuinely enjoyable day in the field. Blannicombe is well suited to both individual guns and full team days, offering flexibility throughout the season. With limited availability, early booking is recommended.
