A Day In The Field
A day at Harpton is designed to combine outstanding sport with relaxed hospitality in one of the most beautiful shooting landscapes in the Welsh borders. Guests begin the day at the shoot hut, where a hearty breakfast is served and the team gathers for a briefing. This is an opportunity to meet your loaders, discuss the day ahead, and settle in before heading out to the valleys. The morning consists of two drives set amongst Harpton’s dramatic terrain, offering a variety of birds and testing shooting in stunning surroundings. After a traditional elevenses break in the field, the party moves on to two further drives, making the most of the estate’s diverse landscape and carefully managed drives. A leisurely lunch provides the perfect chance to relax, share stories from the morning, and enjoy the warm hospitality for which Harpton is known. In the afternoon, the team heads out for one final drive, bringing the day’s sport to a memorable conclusion. As the shooting finishes, guests return to the shoot hut to unwind with tea, coffee, and homemade cake while reflecting on the highlights of the day. From the first breakfast gathering to the final cup of tea, a day at Harpton offers a seamless blend of exceptional shooting, breathtaking scenery, and genuine countryside hospitality.
